RT President Mintimer Shaimiev paid tribute to great opera singer Fyodor Shalyapin

On February 13, President of Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev placed flowers to F.I.Shalyapin’s monument on the occasion of 133rd – anniversary birthday of the great Russian singer and visited new hotel of Kazan “Shalyapin Palace”.

“Shalyapin is an honour for all Russian culture at all times”, - noted President Shaimiev.

Head of the republic and accompanying him inspected the hotel’s interior, listened chore singing of Kazan state conservatory. According to Mintimer Shaimiev, it is a great honour for owners of the hotel that it bears Shalyapin’s name. From the inside it is decorated with paintings and photos of the eminent singer and household utensils dated to early 20th century.
