Mintimer Shaimiev: "It would be desirable that among grant-aided students within framework of national project "Education" be more representatives of Tatarstan"

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held meeting with grant-aided students of special RT state grant on the occasion of Day of Russian students in the Kazan Kremlin.

Post-graduate students, university and college students took part in the action.

In total 60 persons (20 post-graduate students, 30 university students and 10 college students) from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Elabuga, Almetyevsk, Chistopol, Zelenodolsk, Menzlinsk, Nizhnekamsk and village Atnya by results of 2005 have become grant-aided students of the special state grant of Republic Tatarstan. All of them were invited to a meeting with the head of republic.

The meeting in the Kazan Kremlin on Tatyana's day with the best representatives of Tatarstan students with participation of scientists, rectors and heads of public organizations, in Mintimer Shaimiev's opinion, became a good tradition. «Using this opportunity, we can exchange opinions, think over the further development in republic of a science and education, - he noted, addressing the young grant-aided students. - I am very glad, that you are an example for overwhelming majority of our youth». As the head of republic noted, the importance of a today's meeting is determined by two important events - 1000-anniversary of Kazan, celebrated last year, and number of anniversaries of current year declared in Tatarstan the Year of literature and art. Communicating with grant-aided students, the President told them about

priorities of social and economic development of the republic. He noted, that alongside with the economic side of a life, it is impossible to forget about its spiritual component.

At the end Mintimer Shaimiev called the students and post-graduate students to accept active participation in the priority national project "Education". As he said, within the framework of the federal project distribution of 50 thousand grants is supposed in amount of 60 thousand roubles each. «It would be desirable, that among grant-aided students within the framework of the national project "Education" be more representatives of Tatarstan», - the President expressed a wish.
