RT Public Chamber’s First Session

On January 27, the first session of RT Public Chamber was held in Kazan Kremlin. The President of the Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, the Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part in it by the invitation of the Chamber. “New and extraordinary action is happening in public life of our republic: the start is being given to the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan”, - Mintimer Shaimiev said opening the session. He noted that the Public Chamber of Tatarstan was formed out of the most deserved representatives of republic’s public organisations. He wished them a creative work, fidelity to principles and courage.

“The Public Chamber should become a catalyst of socially important initiatives, coming from the society itself, - Mintimer Shaimiev especially underlined. – Its aim is to join together efforts of public organisations and to bring their viewpoints to the notice of the Government”. This is the very mission of the Public Chamber – to be heard on behalf of all the society, RT President considers.

In creating of the Public Chamber we move parallel to the federal centre, noticed Mintimer Shaimiev, having noted that the first session of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation have already been held under the chairmanship of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. It numbers 126 persons, where there is a representative of Tatarstan Rosa Tufetulova.
