Tatarstan President does not exclude that rate of social mortgage crediting may be reduced to 5 percent

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev during press conference in the Kazan Kremlin devoted to the year results told about prospects of mortgage crediting in Tatarstan.

As head of the republic marked today the mortgage in Tatarstan is addressed, first of all, to three categories of citizens: to budget workers, the youth and village inhabitants. By results of 2005 within the framework of social mortgage 6 thousand Tatarstan families have improved their living conditions. Despite of the fact that not all residents of the republic can take part in the program, the existing rate - 7 percent - already is a big achievement of Tatarstan, the President noted. "If we could lower the interest rate to 5 percent and may be one percent more, it would be good, - M.Shaimiev said.

Representatives of 124 regional, city, republican, federal printed and electronic editions took part in press conference. During a three-hour meeting the head of republic answered questions 17 mass-media.
