President M. Shaimiev opens new station in Kukmor

Today President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev who is being on working trip at Kukmor region of the republic celebrating the 75-anniversary took part in official opening of newly constructed building of railway station at Kukmor town.

As RT President noted celebration of the 75-anniversary of Kukmor region is marked by the next significant event in life of the republic. "For last years together with JSC "RZD" -we have constructed all large stations in the republic, except Zelenodolsk. Kukmor station - penultimate, - Mintimer Shaimiev said . Congratulating inhabitants of the region with novelty, head of the republic wished the building of former station constructed in 20th years for ever remained in memory of Kukmor residents because there are a lot of significant events occurred for that time. "The railway always played and is playing a huge socio-economic value for the country, - he emphasized.

Construction of Kukmor station where 12 trains stop every day began in February, 2005. The station will replace the old building that had served about 80 years. Mintimer Shaimiev expressed words of gratitude to everyone who took part in construction of new railway station which is a good gift to inhabitants of region to the 75-anniversary of its foundation.
