Mintimer Shaimiev: it is important to raise efficiency and competitiveness of industrial output

By results of 2005 the volume of industrial production in Republic Tatarstan will exceed 480 billion roubles. These data were sounded by RT President Mintimer Shaimiev at a meeting with heads of mechanical engineering enterprises held at JSC “Kazan engine-building production association" (KMPO) . In conditions of oil recovery stabilization and with such volumes of industrial production the cost of efficiency is extremely high, the head of republic emphasized.

The President of republic called the chiefs of machine-building enterprises to work over increasing competitiveness of produced output. In particular, to carry out purchases of products for production needs by open tenders. Present share of the enterprises which are carrying out purchases like this, without taking into account "KAMAZ" makes only 0,5 percent. Mintimer Shaimiev paid attention of top managers of the enterprises to necessity of deepening cooperation with oil-gas chemical branch, especially regarding construction of a new oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk, and on necessity of increasing innovative component of produced output.
