New Ice Palace opened in Nizhnekamsk

November 23, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in opening of Sport and Culture complex “Ice Palace” in Nizhnekamsk. Festive ceremony began with “Shurale” performance by Champion of Russia in figure skating team “Tatarstan” (Kazan).

President in his address to the citizens of Nizhnekamsk said , in particular: “I knew about construction of new ice stadium but could not imagine it is so magnificent. Achievements of Tatarstan oilmen once again prove the slogan “Buldirabiz! We can!”. Being the 2nd in Nizhnekamsk it is the 15th ice hockey stadium in our republic. “You are doomed for success and are able to win, - President addressed Nizhnekamsk’s hockey players delivering them a certificate for sport equipment and all the necessary, as he noted, to “become champions of the prime league”.

The Palace has almost 5 thousand seats. Stands are located on three sides of the ice arena, which area is over 1800 sq.m. There are VIP box, box for commentators and even seats for disabled with special entrance, toilet facilities and ramps. Head of Kazan administration Ilsur Metshin and head of Nizhnekamsk region and city administration Oleg Vlasov and other officials participated in the ceremony.
