Mintimer Shaimiev took part in Vladimir Putin's bilateral meeting with President of Vietnam Tub So Lyong within the framework of APEC summit

Yesterday, November 18, the main evens within the Summit of organization "Asian - Pacific Economic Cooperation" - the largest international forum of heads of the states, and business representatives of this region took place in the South-Korean city of Busan.

As already informed, President of Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev in structure of the Russian delegation takes part in visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Republic Korea.

In informal conditions of the heads of states and the governments, members of delegations met for discussion of the broad range of the questions concerning the APEC countries as President of the Russian Federation noted before summit, « together to determine the rules of game on economic field of region ». During official reception which was given by the President of Republic Korea No Mu Khen in honour of heads of the states and the governments of countries - APEC participants , the delegation of Tatarstan carried out number of business meetings with representatives of foreign delegations.

Republic Tatarstan - one of the regions of the Russian Federation having major projects in number of the APEC countries Their implementation allows to speak about the greater potential of cooperation of our republic with this region, in particular, with South Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam and the USA. This fact is important, that many APEC members are focused on purchasing Tatarstan output of high quality ("KAMAZ " trucks helicopters, synthetic rubber, tyres, plastic, optical devices, etc.).

Today Mintimer Shaimiev joined bilateral meeting of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with President of Vietnam Tub So Lyong. During a meeting the issues concerning our republic were touched also - in particular the issue of delivering the equipment and technological services "Tatneft" and expansion of cooperation with JSC "KAMAZ".

The same day RT President held meeting with Minister of trade, industry and power of Republic Korea Hi-Beom Lee. In conversation took part state adviser to RT President on international issues - director of Department of foreign affairs Timur Akulov, general director of JSC "Tatneft" Shafagat Takhautdinov, general director of technopark "Idea" Denis Muratov, and from the Korean side - president of corporation «LG International» Byun Tzhu Kim the questions of bilateral cooperation were discussed. During a meeting Mintimer Shaimiev expressed confidence that cooperation with "LG" company would be continued according to decisions of RT Security Council. He also emphasized, that wide experience of work of the company would doubtlessly promote deeper and fruitful interaction between corporation “LG International” and "Tatneft".

President of Tatarstan has supported the initiative of the Korean Minister of trade, industry and power and the President of corporation “LG International” on creating joint working group on issues of developing small and middle business and innovations. After coming to Tatarstan, proceeding from state importance of this issue and planned reciprocal visit by minister Hi-Beom and head of corporation “LG International” Byun Chzhu Kim in May, 2006, the parties promised to create working groups.

In second half of day Mintimer Shaimiev and general director of JSC "Tatneft" Shafagat Takhautdinov took part in the Russian - Korean negotiations on issues of trade economic and humanitarian cooperation between two countries and in ceremony of signing bilateral documents on results of working visit of President of the Russian Federation to Republic Korea.

Today the delegation of Tatarstan has taken off for Kazan, RT President Press Center.
