Mintimer Shaimiev met with benefactors of Tatarstan

November 3, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev met with benefactors and leaders of social institutions in Kazan Kremlin.

“For the first time in many years of work we meet with you in such an assembly. Apparently we had to mature for it, moreover, there is a beautiful occasion – international Muslim holiday Uraza Bairam and tomorrow we will celebrate National Unity Day. Even if there have not been such an All-Russia holiday, it would have been a celebration in Tatarstan, as it is a Day of Kazan Mother-of-God Icon, it was always like this”, - noted President opening the meeting.

“Speaking about new national holiday, Mintimer Shaimiev wished it to remain “a beautiful tradition, a day of national unity and consent”.

“Considering the fact that unity and consent are the very values that we need, it is important to keep them for all the time, to make them a normal life for all our multiethnic people”, said the President.

Mintimer Shaimiev suggested within the frameworks of National Unity Day to make it tradition to devote this day to charity. He named Asgat Galimzyanov, private entrepreneur, an ideal of well-doing, who helps children in need all his life. RT President expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to leaders and workers of social institutions, who put their heart in the work of children up-bringing and care for the elders.
