President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev visits southeast cities of republic

President of Tatarstan Mintimer ShaImiev today is visiting the southeast cities of republic - Almetyevsk and Bugulma. In the morning he took part in the first session of representative body of municipal formation "Almetyevsk municipal region where deputies had unanimously been elected the new head of region. His name - Rishat Abubakirov.

Rishat Abubakirov on October 16 was elected the deputy of representative body "the city of Almetyevsk", having collected in hic constituency more than 80 percent of votes. Before the election he since 2001 had headed administration of Almetyevsk city and region.

RT President, making comments on the event, said that election of Rishat Abubakirov as the head of municipal region is a phenomenon for the city and region. As a whole, he positively assessed previous four-year-old work of Rishat Abubakirov in the rank of the head of administration. The President noted, that Rishat Abubakirov - the person with democratic approach in management. He with respect views the concerns of people and always carries out the tasks assigned to him. The work with him should turn out well, though the tasks ahead are not easy, - Mintimer Shaimiev noted.

The President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, speaking about reform of local self government in the republic, stated that this is a historical event, a new stage in political life of Tatarstan. from now on we must precisely differentiate powers between all levels of authority - municipal and state. Any criticism on issues of life-support system now should go to the right address. It imposes big obligations on new authority of local self-management. It should work effectively, - emphasized M.Shaimiev.
