Mintimer Shaimiev held meeting on implementing the law on local-government reform

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held working meeting with participation of city and region administration chiefs, heads of the ministries and departments of the republic, territorial bodies of the Russian Federation on RT, ranking officers of the President administration , the Cabinet and RT State Council.

During meeting the issues were considered of the further implementing the Federal law № 131-FZ "On general principles of local self-government organization in the Russian Federation" within the context of which elections to territorial institutions of local government in the republic on Sunday October 16 were held. Speaking about results of the elections, Mintimer Shaimiev has expressed satisfaction over their results. In parallel he called not losing time to start organizational actions on forming institutions of local government. Terms of these actions are strictly determined by the law just as accepting the consolidated budget of republic for 2006 and budgets of institutions of local government admits of no delay, informs the RT President press centre.
