Mintimer Shaimiev: Work on land is one of the most ancient and most noble trades

The celebrations devoted to Day of agriculture took place in metropolitan "Basket -hall". More than five thousand the best workers of agrarian and industrial complex of the Tatarstan have gathered on this occasion in Kazan, were congratulated by RT President M. Shaimiev. The Harvest holiday - 2005 was featured by participation of RF Chairman of Accounting Chamber Sergei Stepashin, heads of the ministries and departments of republic, officers responsible of the RT President Administration.

For last six years a share of the republic in the Russian production of agricultural products, - RT President Mintimer Shaimiev stressed in his speech, - has grown one and a half time and reached 4,5 percent. As he said, the greatest dynamics Tatarstan had achieved in grain production. "If per 1986-1990 on the average for a year the republic received 3,2 million tons of bread for the period of 2001-2005 this parameter has grown up to 5 million tons”, - he told. As to cattle-breeding production its volumes, M.Shaimiev noted, keep growing despite of uneasy conditions in the branch conditioned by the market. "We have attained steady production of more than one and a half million tons of milk, - he continued. In his opinion, no region in the Russian Federation produces so much. Besides the republic receives annually over 300 thousand tons of meat, more than 1 billion pieces of eggs. Special care and pride of the President relates to achievements beet growers. Now, the head of republic considers, they have mastered an unprecedented level of more than 2 million tones of root crops or three times more, than 5 years ago. Population of our republic does not know problems anymore with provision of potatoes, vegetables, production of food and processing enterprises, - President summarized the brief review of activity of agrarian and industrial complex.
