Mintimer Shaimiev at the Opening of TGPPU and Monument to Salih Saidashev

On July 12, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev participated in the opening ceremony of Tatar State Humanities-Pedagogical University (TGGPU) main building and the monument to outstanding Tatar composer Salih Saidashev.

The architectural theme of the University’s main building was developed on the RT President’s idea of intellectual-cultural centre, sited within the Tatar State Academic Theatre n.a. G.Kamal, along with the monument to Salih Saidashev in front of the Uni.

Accompanied by Salih Saidashev’s waltz RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin along with other officials and known arts activists of Tatarstan uncovered the monument to the composer.
