On August 8, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in N.Novgorod oblast Governor’s inauguration ceremony. Valery Shantsev, newly appointed Governor, took the oath at the extraordinary session of the regional Legislative Assembly at the armorial hall of N.Novgorod fair.

Change of the first face of any region, country, enterprise or collective depending on the scale is a fateful decision. One of the largest regions of Russia – Nizhniy Novgorod’s welfare depends on the first face, said M.Shaimiev. Nizhegorodskaya oblast always had the image among the Russians of one of the most powerful ones by its intellectual level, ability to manage with difficulties to the benefit of the country and its own population.

Now the responsibility has laid upon very experienced person, who knows what and how to do. We always were and would like to remain good neighbours. That is why it is very important to maintain the unity of all branches of power of Nizhegorodskaya oblast. And no one does doubt in the country that these citizens can and are able to work. It is interesting to compete with the one who is doing fine. The entire country will benefit from it”, concluded M.Shaimiev and wished the residents of the oblast patience and health.

Mintimer Shaimiev gifted Valery Shantsev a gold-plated image of the reconstructed Kremlin of the 1000-years old Kazan. “From Kazan Kremlin to Nizhniy Novgorod’s one”, said RT President.

After the solemn ceremony was over Mintimer Shaimiev answered question of mass media. According to him, it was not at once when he has met the Moscow Government representatives, and Valery Shantsev as well.

“We cooperate closely with the Moscow Government not only on economic issues, but problems of the Tatars, residents of Moscow and Moscow oblast. Valery Shantsev is an experienced and a business like person. N.Novgorod oblast must be very lucky and it has been a brilliant decision made by RF President Vladimir Putin”, M.Shaimiev said.
