Mintimer Shaimiev Met Muslim Leaders of Europe

On August 5, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting with representatives of the European Muslim world in Kazan Kremlin.

They discussed issues concerning problems of Muslims who live in European countries, their interaction with other confessions. RT President noted that “creation of the European Muslim Union is a sign of our time” opening the meeting. According to Mintimer Shaimiev, the relationships between the major religions in the light of present events cannot leave a sane person indifferent, they make one search for solution to the raising questions. “I think that new public body – the European Muslim Union – first of all aspires to understand and to condition life of the Muslims in the modern Europe”, - the President shared his opinion.
