Mintimer Shaimiev: “Tatar State Humanities-Pedagogical University will be the second in terms of importance in the Republic”

It has been decided at the level of RT Government and RF Ministry of Education and Science to establish such a university. It is created though merger of Kazan State Pedagogical University with Tatar State Humanities Institute and Tatar-American Regional Institute.

Today, some people show their discontent and confuse students, said RT President Mintimer Shaimiev. “Studying in Tatar State Humanities-Pedagogical University students will get diplomas, certainly of the highest value. Some are interested, why this new university is formed on the base the Pedagogical one. While we were celebrating 200th anniversary of Kazan State University, KSPU turned 130. I believe, it becomes the second in terms of its importance after KSU in the Republic”, - RT President underlined.

“If somebody does not understand and get into debates on this point, I feel ashamed for them. We provide beautiful conditions today: a new building is finished infront Kamal Theatre in Kazan, valuable traditions of professors and teachers will be preserved there. We would like students to get a sound education, prepare specialists, who would know several languages, who would be competitive not only in Russia but abroad. These become more topical in the modern opened world. We know, what we are doing, and first of all we issue from children care, care of the next generation”, - Mintimer Shaimiev noted.
