RT President Mintimer Shaimiev participated in seminar-session on agriculture problems in Zainsk region

Issues of agriculture complex and sanitary-ecological situation improvement in Tatarstan were discussed at the Republic seminar-session on June, 29 in Zainsk town.

RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, RT Prime-Minister Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the working session.

According to the last 5 months results of agriculture development in the region could be assessed as positive. If to take into account period from January to May, 2005 production volume of meat of cattle and bird made 110.8 thousand tones, eggs – 432 mln, gross milk yield – 589.9 thousand tones.

With indignation RT President noted those heads of regions who let the reduction of a livestock of cattle almost on third for a year. Head of our Republic cannot accept their excuses and explanations, especially when they justify themselves with some “democratic trends”.
“Democracy is abundance of goods of own production”, said Mintimer Shaimiev.

Commenting on development of agriculture as a whole, RT President noted, “This sector will be changed drastically, but we should stop urge heads of the needy farms”. “We will help strong enterprises, and the ones who do not want to work, let them not work and further on”, - underlined Mintimer Shaimiev.

According to Mintimer Shaimiev, it is going to be a good harvest this year, and it would be great if we manage to cut it in by the Kazan 1000th anniversary celebration.”
