President of Tatarstan considers that the post of president must be retained in the Republic

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev considers that the post of president must be retained. As M.Shaimiev stated in interview to "Interfax - Povolzhye agency he regards unacceptable for Tatarstan the approach in resolving issues of statehood similar to that exposed by deputies of parliament of Northern Ossetia, who abolished the post of president of republic.

As informed, according to the decision accepted one of these days by Northern Ossetia deputies instead of president since January 1, 2006, Northern Ossetia Alanaia will be supervised by head of republic. Local deputies motivated their decision that in Russia, in their opinion, there should be only one president - President of the Russian Federation.
