1100 veterans of Great Patriotic War took part in military parade in Freedom square in Kazan

One of the culmination moments of day time celebratory actions on May 9 was a military parade in the main square of Kazan - Freedom square where thousand veterans of the Great Patriotic War, soldiers of Kazan garrison, residents and guests of the city got together.

The ceremony devoted to celebrating of the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was attended by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, and other officials. War veterans from the seven districts of the city of Kazan watched the parade from tribunes maintained near the monument to Lenin and the Musa Dzhalil Opera and Ballet Theatre.
