Mintimer Shaimiev: "The main task - growth of incomes of Tatarstan citizens"

The outcomes of social and economic development of Tatarstan in 2004 and tasks for 2005 was the subject of the expanded session of RT Ministry of Economy and Industry held today. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Chairman of State Council RT Farid Mukhametshin took part in the work of collegium.

How the economy of Tatarstan would work, in many respects depends on competitiveness of economy of all country, Mintimer Shaimiev noticed. But processes of reforming would not have serious effect without growth of our citizens incomes, and all our thoughts will stay on a paper. The main task today - to achieve high wages without dependence from field of activity, President said.

In opinion of RT President, today it is very important to step up growth of industry without taking into account oil production. The certain successes have been achieved in mechanical engineering, and petrochemists face the task of a significant growth of volumes in oil refining. At last, positive shifts have been outlined in light industry as well, he noted.
