Meeting in the Kremlin

Today, on February 21, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held a working meeting in the Kazan Kremlin dedicated to the preparation for celebrating the 1000th anniversary of the foundation of Kazan.

The course of realisation of publishing projects connected with the city's 1000th anniversary was in the focus. Issues of information covering of the anniversary celebrations and in particular the organisation of the International Press-centre were also discussed.

As the President of Tatarstan - the Chairman of the Republican Commission for celebrating the 1000th anniversary of the foundation of Kazan noted, from now on the commission will gather 1 or 2 times each month.

"It is time to appoint those responsible for all the events of the celebrations. These people, being main organisers, will solve all problems arising during the preparation and provide the appropriate quality from the beginning up to the end", - Mintimer Shaimiev said.

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the RT State Council, Kazan Mayor Kamil Iskhakov and other officials were present at the meeting.
