Problems of developing welfare and culture sphere of two largest cities of Trankama zones - Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny also had been object of attention of the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shamiev during the two-day working trip.

The President visited the station of water treatment (under construction) which should solve an old problem - to provide the city with potable water. The decision on construction here the stations of water purification was accepted in 1999. As Mintimer Shaimiev admitted, this problem is an old one, heads of city and the republic for a long time have tried to settle it in different ways. Last solution allows to provide wholly both the population, and the industrial enterprises with potable water. Work in two turns is provided. The first - construction of station of deep water treatment with preservation of working system of water delivery. The total cost of the project makes 1 billion 180 million roubles. Financing for 680 million has been already fulfilled. In the beginning of October, according to the Head of administration of Nizhnekamsk Ilsur Metshin, the issue on financing for 250 million has been settled. Other lacking means are being searched.

The main point now - rates of construction, the President of republic is confident. In fact, everyone understands what does it mean to commission in time such a complex object, to construct for such city a reliable water source with corresponding quality of water. It would be desirable, he noticed, that this project has been realized in the first half-year 2006.

Long-awaited event for the townspeople became opening the Museum of city history . The city museum has existed since 1976, it appeared to 10-anniversary of Nizhnekamsk and originally settled down in three-room apartment. In April of this year
the city management has allocated a building in the center by the area of 2111 square meters for the museum. After its reconstruction 14 showrooms here were open, half of stocks of museum is presented in them which today totals 30 thousand of exhibits.

Certainly, time has passed not so much (in 2006 the city turns 40-anniversary), for a history it is nothing but for the time past much has been done, Mintimer Shaimiev said, congratulating Nizhnecomers with opening a new museum.
The most important, despite of difficult times, the industry in Nizhnekamsk has been reserved, the crisis here avoided. I like that your future is better, than some where else, I speak about it with confidence, taking into account priorities of the economy development of the republic, the President emphasized.

The city oncological clinic became the first stopover of the President of Tatarstan at city of Naberezhny Chelny. This establishment of public health services was founded in 1997, and in a year it has received the status of Regional Oncological Associations. The clinic which today is servicing all population of the city and 16 regions of the republic is equipped by X -ray diagnostic equipment with a complex, endoscopic and ultrasonic equipment. For example, only the digital x-ray device costs 250 thousand dollars. The similar center simply is necessity for Tatarstan where today more than 47 thousand oncological patients stand on register and annually it is put on list about 11 thousand new patients.
