Condolences following tragic events in the town of Beslan

On September 4, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev sent a telegram of condolence to President of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania following the tragic events in the town of Beslan.

“The tragedy in the Ossetian town of Beslan has deeply shocked citizens of the Republic of Tatarstan. We attribute this atrocity, the victims of which are innocent children, as an appaling act of barbarism that cannot be justified by anything.

We mourn together with the people of North Ossetia-Alania, with all the Russians over the numerous victims, the children’s deaths. This is our common pain.

We ask to convey deep condolences of people of Tatarstan to families of the dead and all victims.”
