RT President awarded medals “In the memory of Kazan 1000th anniversary”

On September 6, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev rewarded the medals “In the memory of Kazan 1000th anniversary” for significant contribution to socio-economic development of the city and preparations for the 1000th year from Kazan foundation.
“The end crowns the work”, RT President opened his greeting speech, summing up the results of the recent festivities dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of Tatarstan’s capital. In his opinion, there are no particular comments on this or that site of work. Mr. President especially noted work of the Operative Headquarters on preparations for the anniversary of Kazan chaired by RT Prime-Minister Rustam Minnikhanov. A big number of socially important objects have been constructed, which is not least for the people, underlined M.Shaimiev, having noticed that the preparation and realisation of important actions within the framework of the city Jubilee was held at the highest level, for it has been esteemed by distinguished guests, who had come from all over the world to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Speaking about Kazan 1000th anniversary in general, the President stressed that this holiday holds tremendous political meaning. According to him, fair emphasises had been put in propagating history of people of Tatarstan, its role in Russian statehood development, which was estimated according to merits. “RF President’s statement needs to be read thoroughly”, - underlined Mintimer Shaimiev, speaking about it as a key assessment of historical events of a thousand years old Kazan.
M.Shaimiev noticed, in particular, that after festive actions are over mood of common Kazaners and citizens of the Republic changed. We should go deeper, into each courtyard; we should not stop until good initiatives are hot. Thus were his wishes to the guests. “A slogan “We can!” – “Buldyrabyz!”(in Tatar) I like more and more from day to day”, - Mintimer Shaimiev concluded.
For significant contribution to socio-economic development of the city and preparations for the 1000th year from Kazan foundation were awarded the medals “In the memory of Kazan 1000th anniversary” as follows: RT Prime-Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Head of RT President’s Administration Yuri Kamaltynov, RT Vice-Prime-Minister – Minister of Culture Zilya Valeeva, RT State Council Secretary Valentina Lipuzhina, State Advisor to RT President on Political Issues Rafael Khakimov, Head of FSB Board in RT Evgeny Vdovin, ministers and heads of different departments organizations.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
On 28 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a plenary session of the National Assembly of the World Tatar Congress held with participation of about 1 thousand delegates from 68 regions of Russia and 27 foreign countries in the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan’
On 20 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev attended horse races held at the International Equestrian Complex in Kazan and dedicated to Kazan Sabantuy.
On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
