RT President Mintimer Shaimiev made a work visit to Tukaevsky district

On August 19, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev visited Tukaevsky district of the republic. He was accompanied by RT Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Head of Naberezhnye Chelny city administration Ildar Khalikov, Tukaevsky district Head of administration Tagir Kharmatullin.

The number one in the President’s agenda was visit to OAO “Voroshilovsky” where he familiarized with the situation in harvesting of vegetables and grain-crops. Winter wheat harvesting is completed by 70 per cent. Telling about the state of affairs in the district, the head of the administration mentioned good yield and timely payment of wages.

Commenting on the harvesting in the republic in the whole, Mintimer Shaimiev said: “We have no grounds to doubt good yield. As of today, harvesting is almost over, and the most precious crops is still in the fields”. The republic will enjoy rich harvest of spring wheat this year, though the situation with winter wheat could be better should there be no lack of rains.

Later on, the President of Tatarstan visited the battery farm of Tukaevsky district. Then he left for Elabuga to take part in the opening of the sport complex of Elabuga State Pedagogical Institute.
