Meeting in the Kremlin

On August 10, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with President & CEO of LG International Corp. Mr. Byung-Joo Keum in the Kazan Kremlin. The participant of the meeting focused on issues of realisation of joint projects in petrochemistry and oil processing.

We work with many companies in the world, thanks to what a number of projects in the sphere of petrochemistry have been implemented in the republic, Mintimer Shaimiev said. The result is a 12-18 growth per annum in that sphere.

It is of great importance for the republic that petrochemical projects are highly efficient. We think, the Tatarstan President marked, that with our resources and sources of raw materials we have good opportunities for implementation of joint projects in the petrochemical sphere.

At the press-conference President & CEO of LG International Corp. Mr. Byung-Joo Keum said that the project, to be implemented in Tatarstan, is the most expensive in the history of cooperation between Korea and Russia. The first stage of the project costs about $1.5 billion.

The participants of the meeting were vice presidents of "LG International Corp" Je-Il Yang Seung-Dong Kim, RT first deputy prime-minister Ravil Muratov, Director General of JSC “Kazan Helicopters” Alexander Lavrentyev, Director General of JSC “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin, et al.
