Forum of Tatar youth: national heritage won’t disappear

Official opening of the Tatar youth forum, the first major meeting of young representatives of the Tatar nation from the different countries, took place on June 25 at the S.Saidash State Grand Concert Hall.
RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin greeted the delegates of forum on behalf of President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.
It is remarkable that the forum of the Tatar youth is being held in Kazan, the city with the richest 1000-year history and original national heritage. Its streets have been impregnated with the spirit of those times when outstanding people of the world culture and science Mardjani and Derzhavin, Lobachevsky and Mushtari, Butlerov and Kamai, Tolstoi and Tukai, Saidashev and Klyucharev and many others had walked down them. Their invaluable creations turned to be a fundamental basis for the development and prosperity of modern spirituality, morals of Tatar people, have become an integral part of world cultural heritage. Undoubtedly, the forum has gathered initiative young people who are capable adequately to learn and work, who are able at the highest level to represent their nation. It would be desirable that your meeting served to unification of efforts on revival of national culture, preservation of spiritual riches. I think it is symbolic that the forum is conducted on the days when in all regions of Russia and different corners of the world where our compatriots live, melodies of the national holiday of Sabantui personifying youth and renewal of life are sounding. We live in uneasy, but interesting time, time of great opportunities, unprecedented opening, high speeds, steady rapprochement of cultures and civilizations. I am sure you would manage not to lose in these conditions the richest heritage of our ancestors ", is said in the greeting.
Summing up the works of scientific workshops, Chairman of the executive committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov in particular noted that over 200 delegates and visitors from 50 regions of Russia and 120 delegates from Tatarstan took part in the Forum of the Tatar youth.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
On 28 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a plenary session of the National Assembly of the World Tatar Congress held with participation of about 1 thousand delegates from 68 regions of Russia and 27 foreign countries in the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan’
On 20 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev attended horse races held at the International Equestrian Complex in Kazan and dedicated to Kazan Sabantuy.
On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
