Tatarstan and Altai are ready for cooperation

On April 23 at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic of Altai Igor Yaimov.

During the meeting, the Tatarstan President and the Chairman of the State Assembly of Altai discussed the concept of the further interaction.

In 2006, the Republic of Altai will celebrate the 250th anniversary of joining Russia. Igor Yaimov invited Mintimer Shaimiev to the forthcoming celebrations. He also noticed that the Tatarstan capital is impressive not only with its historic buildings and monuments, but it can also boast of new constructions, such as the Basket-hall.

Later that day, Igor Yaimov was received at the RT Parliament by Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin. The interlocutors exchanged information on the legislative activity of the parliaments of the two republics and discussed issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation. The parties came to an agreement about the visit of the official delegation of the RT State Council to Gorno-Altaisk this year; the visit will be aimed at concluding the agreement on cooperation between the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Assembly of the Republic of Altai.
