Ambassador of Sweden visits Kazan

March 21-24, 2004, the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow holds Swedish Culture Days in Kazan. In this regard, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden Sven Hirdman and his wife arrived in Kazan on Sunday.

Swedish Film Days will be held in the “Organik” movie-theatre and at Kazan State Technological University. The grand opening will be attended by the Ambassador Sven Hirdman. Demonstration of the film will follow the concert of the Swedish youth orchestra.

History of Swedish monarchy will be portrayed in the photo exhibition held at Kazan State Technological University.

March 22-24 will see the exhibition “Consumers Goods of the Republic of Tatarstan” take place at the exhibition centre “Kazan Fair”. The IKEA company will take part in the exhibition under the slogan “IKEA looks for partners in Tatarstan”.

March 22 will also see the opening of the IKEA-Kazan store. The official opening of IKEA stores traditionally starts at 7 a.m. Attending on the Swedish side there will be Ambassador Sven Hirdman and Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of the IKEA company.

The official programme of the visit of Mr Ambassador will include meetings with RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, First Deputy Prime Minister Ravil Muratov, Culture Minister Ildus Tarkhanov.
