Most amendments to the draft laws “On the committees of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan”, “On introducing amendments and additions to articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan”, and “On elections of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan” were either editing related or connected to changes in the federal legislation.
The budget of the republic was approved earlier than the federal budget, therefore it is to be adjusted to the changes in the latter.
Seven draft laws were approved in the first reading.
The deputies considered 27 draft federal laws. One of them was turned down. Head of the Parliament Farid Mukhametshin summed up the results of the activity of the 2nd convocation State Council. President Shaimiev expressed gratitude to the Parliament for the work fulfilled.

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
