Tatarstan President opens a school

The second day of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev’s visit to the Kama zone started with opening of a new school building in the Kalmiya village (Tukayevsky district, Tatarstan).

Attention to the rural district providing to one of the biggest towns of the republic is understandable. In opinion of Tatarstan’s head, it is capable to achieve efficiency of producing competitive products.

Today, we hear suggestions to close schools in small villages, we will not do it, Tatarstan President said at the opening of the school. If one wants a village cease existing, the first step to it is to close the school. And if there is gas, good roads, schools, the village will live.

President presented 12 computers to the school and declared that by 2007 all pupils of the republic will have an access to the Internet, and such an information breakthrough will tell on the level of knowledge, preparation of the young generation.
