Accept my cordial greetings on the occasion of Kurban-bairam holiday! Being one of the most honored holidays of the Muslim world, Kurban-bairam personifies high moral principles of Islam – mercy, kindness, and love to people. Sympathy to our neighbours in everyday affairs, respect for adherents of other belief, pure thoughts and pious deeds attach to this holiday a special sense, help us to be spiritually pure.

Within many centuries, Islam has been playing an important role in strengthening morals, increasing spiritual and cultural heritage of Tatarstan. Interacting with other religions, it gained specific, civilised features in our republic, became a source of modern tendencies to harmonisation of international and interconfessional relations.

On their homeland, Muslims of Tatarstan has maintained Islam as a religion of peace and good, appealing to protecting and saving of each human life, which is a priceless gift. I am confident that adherence to the true values of the religious doctrine, opening mosques and religious educational institutions are the important factors of spiritual renewal of the nation, strengthening of believers’ unity.
