President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, the co-chairman of the "United Russia", believes that the pre-election debates are to be broadcast in real time as they occur. M. Shaimiev expressed this opinion when interviewed by "Interfax".

"Debates should be broadcast live, but with the consent of candidates and under the agreement with telechannels, without any inteference", - added M.Shajmiev, being currently on leave in accordance with election legislation, as the head of the republic is a candidate for the State Duma under the federal list of the "United Russia".

Commenting on the decision of two federal channels to broadcast recordings of debates, and also fears of mass media about the updated election legislation, M.Shaimiev said that today mass media and candidates reap fruits of their actions during the last election campaign.

In this connection he noted, that televiewers untill now remember that information terror which had rained down all over the country from the part of some TV companies especially from the part of TV reporter Sergey Dorenko whom as M.Shaimiev reminded, people have christened as telekiller.

He believes that both mass media and politicians from among candidates should study political culture aiming at the only purpose - preservations of freedom of speech and the right to receiving information by citizens of the country.

"These rights are not to be restrained in conditions of activisation of political life in the present pre-election period", - M.Shaimiev concluded.
