Cooperation of Tatarstan with turkey extend

August 29, the meeting between President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Minister of Finance of Turkish Republic Kemal Unakitan who arrived in Kazan was held at the Kazan Kremlin.

During conversation priority directions of the further development of the cooperation having, in mutual opinion of the parties, significant potential were discussed.

The business partnership of our republic with Turkey is built on a basis of the intergovernmental agreement on trade - economic, scientific - technical and cultural cooperation concluded in May 1995. In structure of Tatarstan export prevails the output of the chemical and petrochemical industry. Our republic imports from Turkey the mechanical and electric equipment, products from ferrous metals. Opening in Turkey six years back representation of Tatarstan has positively effected on a condition of bilateral trade and economic relations. Last year, the volume of commodity circulation with this country, in comparison with 2001, increased more than twice and reached almost 17 million dollars. By figures of the foreign trade turnover for the first half-year 2003, favorable tendencies in this area will be kept in present year as well.
