Tatarstan and Bangladesh: extending cooperation

Development of trade and external economic cooperation between Tatarstan and the Republic of Bangladesh was discussed during the meeting of President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimieva and Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in the Russian Federation Nazimullah Chowdhury.

As Mintimer Shaimiev noted, our republic lookes forward to long and fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Bangladesh not only in trading, economic, but also in cultural sphere. Tatarstan may deliver products of KamAZ, ships of various types, exchange experience in various branches of economy. Tatarstan is interested in Bangladeshi experience of the system of microcrediting aimed at the increases of the living standards of the population. This system, according to the Ambassador, has a tremendous success in Bangladesh and brings about 3 billion dollars annually. The meeting was fruitful and interesting to both parties. Mr. Nazimullah Chowdhury expressed hope that it will become a stimulus for long-term cooperation with Tatarstan.
