New TV channels in Tatarstan

The Tatarstan TV experience is a strong base for the development of the most contemporary TV projects in the Russian Federation. This conclusion was elaborated during the meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and General Director of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network Gennady Sklyar. This meeting took place on February 28 in the Kazan Kremlin. The parties came up to understanding - an Agreement between Tatarstan and the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network on the further development will be worked out. In Mintimer Shaimiev’s opinion, today it is necessary to think about how to provide people with more interesting TV channels, including new ones, as well as how to master new technologies, yet unused, which will give an opportunity to order the TV programs and directly communicate with a TV anchor.

According to Mintimer Shaimiev and Gennady Sklyar’s decision, a new enterprise will be created in Tatarstan, independent from the State Television and Radio Company Holding, to promote the programs of both republican and Russian TV programs. Tatarstan will get an opportunity to receive more new channels that will be broadcast from Moscow by means of special communication links.
