Baltasy cattle breeders celebrated in Kazan Kremlin

The meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev with Baltasy cattle breeders was held in the Kazan Kremlin on January, 13.

For the first time Baltasy cattle industry has achieved great results in the republic - milk yield for one year made more than 5000 kg per a cow. The animal production of the region takes the first place in the republic. The head of the republic said that the workers of this region opened a new page in agricultural history of Tatarstan. The President mentioned the district is an agrarian one, there are no industrial enterprises, no support as with the other regions and people rely only on themselves. The Baltasy people proved with their knowledge and skill that it is possible to live and work even in the most unfavorable conditions. The heads and the workers of agrarian and industrial complex should understand that it is no use to wait for the personal help from the state. The state would support all commodity producers, but the producers based on this help should use all reserves and opportunities. Mintimer Shaimiev added that the experience of Baltasy region should be a model for the other republican regions .

The President noted that the number of cattle and pigs increased. Production of animal industry grew due to the livestock yield. The high crops of grain were turned into the monetary incomes having shipped the grain to processing for animal industries. 94 centners of meat and 495 centners of milk are produced per every 100 hectares of farmland in the most northern region of the republic. Four farms exceeded a 6000 mark of grain crop in 2002 - "Alga", "Burbash", "Tatarstan", “Lenin Farm”.

At the end of the meeting Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated the best workers with awarding of the rank " Honored cattle breeder of the Republic of Tatarstan ". He handed the Certificate of Honor of the Republic Tatarstan and the Order of Honor to head of Baltasy administration Marat Zaripov and deputy of prime Minister - RT Minister of Agriculture and foodstuffs Marat Akhmetov.
