Meeting with Roald Sagdeev

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev handed over to the academician of the RF Academy of sciences and the RT Academy of sciences, Maryland university’s professor of physics Roald Sagdeev the document on assigning the rank " Deserved Scientist of the RT science " at the Kazan Kremlin on January 16. Spouse of the scientist and grand daughter of 34-th President of the USA Susan Eizenhauer, first assistant to the President of the RF Academy of sciences Gennady Mesyats, specialist in the field of astophysics, head of the department of the institute of astronomy Alexey Fridman, expert in the field of plasma physics, deputy director of Institute of nuclear physics named after . G.I.Budker, academician Edward Kruglyakov, and others took part in the meeting.

Tatarstan president Mintimer Shaimiev wished Roald Sagdeev to find a secret, exciting minds of philosophers and scientists - antisubstance. The famous academician answered, that he is a participant of the experiment "Spectrometer of antisubstance " that is to be held in 2005 at the International space station.

Today America has specific point of view on Islam. The Harward university even created a theory about the new way of the cold war between two civilizations - Christianity and Islam. According to this theory here, through Kazan, through the territory of the Kremlin passes a front line. But our people managed not only to keep, but also to develop the atmosphere of harmony and cooperation between nations and religions. Coming to Kazan Roald Sagdeev was very happy to see a symbol of peace in the evening sky – Kul Sharif mosque and the Blagoveshchenskiy cathedral. Roald Sagdeev reminded Mintimer Shaimiev’s visit to Washington. The academician was asked to introduce the President of Tatarstan at the official dinner and he said : This person - the head of Tatars who managed to sign a Peace Treaty with Russia after four and a half century capture of Kazan by Ivan the Terrible .Roald Sagdeev said that Mintimer Shaimiev is one of the most respected post -Soviet politicians in the world.

Roald Sagdeev is one of the founders of modern plasma physics. His works are recognized all over the world. Being 36 years old he had became the academician of the academies of many countries. He is the son of Tatarstan who belongs to the World.



Roald Sagdeev admitted that taking part in the International conferences he always introduces himself as: member of the academies of sciences of Tatarstan and Vatican.

Susan Eizenhauer said that they are the pioneers of the West and the East cooperation. Roald is one of the first Tatar man who began to live in Washington, and she is happy that they met each other. The world is one home for Christians and Moslems.

The spouse of the academician said that within a two days visit they want to see all new achievements of Tatarstan. We shall inform all our countrymen in America about this visit and about everything we’ll see here. It is important for USA, to show that Christians and Moslems can live in peace together. Tatarstan is an example of this peaceful coexistence.

Mintimer Shaimiev told the visitors about the economic situation in the republic, positive changes in the social sphere, the Russian Islamic university, about the yesterday's session of Security council accepted ” Principles of Tatarstan state policy in the field of information and communication for 2003-2007 years ", about the relations with Tatar Diaspora.

The head of Tatarstan invited Roald Sagdeev with the spouse to visit Kazan in the days of celebrating of 1000-anniversary of the city.

Head of the RT President Office Ekzam Gubaidullin, deputy RT prime minister Zilya Valeeva and the others took part in the meeting.

The same day scientific session of the RT Academy of sciences, devoted to 70-anniversary of Roald Sagdeev was held. President of the RT Academy of sciences Mansur Khasanov said that Roald Sagdeev always helps Tatarstan in preparation of scientific staff, actively promotes integration of the Russian science in the world. RF President Vladimir and of RT President Mintimer Shaimev highly estimated the work of R. Sagdeev .

According to Deputy Prime Minister Zilya Valeeva Tatarstan is full of talented people. But Roald Sagdeev is a special star. Although he lives far away from Tatarstan he maintains the closest relations with Tatarstan.

Roald Sagdeev answered that our countries are on the way of cooperation. The experience of Tatarstan in solving the problems of international terrorism and inter-confessional opposition is a good example for the other countries.
