Jews appreciate peace and consent

A delegation of Israel - Moscow led by president of the CIS Federation of Jewish Communities, chairman of commercial and Industrial Levi Levai became a guest of honor of the Kazan Jewish community. The same day L.Levai was received by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev in the Kremlin residence.

Having congratulated the visitor, and also all Jews living in republic and beyond its borders on holiday of Hanuka, M.Shaimiev wished them peace and well-being. He also expressed sincere hope that the long-awaited peace and consent inevitably would come and on the holy land of Israel experiencing today uneasy times.

Tatarstan as an example of how in one land may live in consent and amicably work representatives of different peoples and religious faiths. We very much value it. We are going henceforth to protect this friendship, mutual tolerance and understanding as a big value, the President emphasized.
