Mintimer Shaimiev meets Academician Alexander Chubaryan

On April 2, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board Trustees of the Revival Regional Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with the research supervisor of the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the All-Russian public organization "Association of Teachers of History and Social Science", academician Alexander Chubaryan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Shaimiev showed an exhibition on the activities of the Regional Foundation for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage to the guest and told him about the project “Cultural Heritage: the ancient city of Bolgar and the island-town of Sviyazhsk”, which was completed this January.

During the conversation, Chubaryan, who arrived in Kazan to hold a meeting of the All-Russian public organization “Association of Teachers of History and Social Science”, noted that the meeting organized by Kazan Federal University with the assistance of its rector Ilshat Gafurov,was held at a high level. Kazan Federal University has been chosen as a platform for activities of the Association, the best teachers and methodologists of Russia will cooperate with Kazan University and take part in the training of teachers for schools of the republic. Moreover, the Department of Historical and Social Science Education was opened at the Institute of International Relations of Kazan Federal University based at the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This is Russia's first experience of interaction between academies and higher educational institutions.

Shaimiev also told the guest about a new joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic and the Revival Regional Foundation on establishing a multilingual educational complex in the republic, which was launched earlier this year.
