On February 20, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, members of the regional government and invited guests took part in the seventh meeting of the regional State Council of the sixth convocation held by Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the republic Yuri Kamaltynov.
The meeting started with a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the people’s deputy of Tatarstan State Council Gabdelkhai Karimov and Member of the Russian State Duma Ayrat Khayrullin.
The Presidium of the State Council proposed to consider 29 issues at the seventh parliamentary meeting, including 7 regional bills, two legislative initiatives of the State Council, 12 draft federal laws and the legislative initiative of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region.
The people’s deputies made a proposal to include new issues on the agenda. During the discussion, the agenda of the seventh meeting expanded to 46 issues.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, appealed to the members of the State Council of the republic with a proposal to prepare a petition addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin on assigning the title of “City of Labour Valour” to the capital of Tatarstan.
Earlier, Russian President proposed assigning the title “City of Labour Valour” to cities whose residents made a significant contribution to achieving Victory in the World War II, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises located in the city, and showing massive labor heroism and dedication.
Metshin informed that he personally, the Kazan City Duma and Tatarstan President received appeals from residents, public organizations and enterprise teams on this issue.
The people’s deputies approved the Mayor’s proposal.
Interior minister of Tatarstan Artem Khokhorin and Commissioner for Human Rights in Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya made reports under the implementation of parliamentary control.
