Mintimer Shaimiev meets Sergey Tsivilev

On 23 June in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with Governor of Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev, where he showed him the exposition of work of the Regional Revival Fund in preservation of historical and cultural heritage.

Shaimiev told Tsivilev about projects, such as the revival of the ancient town of Bolgar and the town-island of Sviyazhsk, establishment of the Bolgar Islamic academy and reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Virgin, implemented by the Fund in 2010-2021 due to all round support from the population, the power bodies and numerous benefactors. Shaimiev also told the Governor about the new project of the Revival Fund, namely establishment of the poly-lingual educational complexes Adymnar.

During the meeting Sergey Tsivilev told Mintimer Shaimiev about the first international miners’ Sabantuy held in Kuzbass last year following the verbal agreement with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. He also informed that the second miners’ Sabantuy is held on 25 June in the current year and in 2023 Kuzbass will host the federal and the third international miners’ Sabantuy.

The Governor of Kemerovo region underlined that the Tatars are the second in number ethnicity in his region and make huge contribution into its social and economic development. “Tatars are hardworking people and showed their worth in mining and got us acquainted with the wonderful holiday of Sabantuy”, Tsivilev said. 

Mintimer Shaimiev noted that more than 100 years ago Tatars started leaving to Kuzbassand Donbass to make their living by mining in hungry years of the last century. “Due to them their families survived at the Motherland and this hard times of the history of Tatars have found their reflection in culture, literature and art of our people” he said.

Mintimer Shaimiev and Sergey Tsivilev also discussed some spheres of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kemerovo region in historical heritage, culture and education.
