Medal of International committee «Fair Play» presented to Mintimer Shaimiev

On July 10 at their meeting in Kazan Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of guardians of the Regional Foundation of Revival of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and President of International committee «Fair Play» Jeno Kamuti discussed development of world fencing and competitions held within the framework of 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan.
Jeno Kamuti is a famous Hungarian fencer and surgeon cardiologist, two-time silver medalist of the Olympic Games, world champion (1957), world champion among students (1959, 1961, 1963, 1965), World Cup Winner (1973), winner of dozens of competitions, former President of European Fencing Federation. Since 2005 he has held the post of Secretary General of Hungarian Olympic Committee.
At the beginning of the meeting Jeno Kamuti presented the medal of International committee «Fair Play» to Mintimer Shaimiev for merits in development of sport movement and "fair play" in politics.
Mintimer Shaimiev thanked Jeno Kamuti for the award noting importance of «Fair Play» mission.
Jeno Kamuti shared his impressions about 27th World Summer Student Games and thanked Russian and Tatarstan leadership for a wonderful sport holiday.
“We are now facing changes in world and Olympic sport, and importance of Universiades in terms of keeping honest sport traditions is increasing. I took part in four Olympic Games and five Universiades, and at Kazan Universiade I feel the spirit of honest sport competition,” President of «Fair Play» said.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On January 20, the First President of Tatarstan, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates its 89 birthday.
He received numerous congratulations from the state and regional leaders, public figures, figures in science, education and culture and residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
