Mintimer Shaimiev meets a delegation from the Russian Historical Society

On 1 November in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiyev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund and the UNESCO Good Will Ambassador, had a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Russian Historical Society- the Executive Director of the History of the Fatherland Fund of Russian Academy of Sciences Konstantin Mogilevsliy, the Member of the Russian Historical Society Presidium , Director of the Institute of Archeology of Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolay Makarov and the Academician of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Shakhin Mustafayev, who came to take part in the international conference “Restoration, Conservation and Museumfication of the archeological wood and organic materials” in Kazan.

Regional Minister of Science and education Ilsur Kahdiullin, Rector of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) Lenar Safin, the Director of the Institute of Archeology of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Ayrat Sitdikov, the Director of International Relations Institute of the Kazan Federal University Ravil Khayrutdinov and the Director of the Museum-Reserve of the Town-Island of Sviyazhsk Artyom Silkin also took part in the meeting which discussed issues of developing historical education in high schools and university and topics of domestic historical science.

In the beginning of the meeting Lenar Safin handed in Mintimer Shaimiev a university award of the H. Fren Gold Medal, and in its conclusion the Chairman of the Board of Russian Historical Society Konstantin Mogilevsliy handed in Mintimer Shaimiev the Letter of Recognition from the Chairman of Russian Historical Society S. Naryshkin for his attentive and careful attitude to historical and cultural heritage of Tatarstan and Russia.

In his turn Mintimer Shaimiev handed in his guests Letters of Recognition from the Regional Revival Fund.
