On December 9, on the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev unveiled a memorial plaque in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union, a participant of the World War II Boris Kuznetsov.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Kuznetsov was a man of great personal courage, a true patriot who became a Hero of the Soviet Union at the age of 19.
“Boris Kirillovich maintained active social work all his life and made a significant contribution to the patriotic education of the younger generation. Today his heroic path is an example and a guideline for our soldiers participating in the Special Military Operation. The bright memory of our Hero, his inexhaustible energy, optimism and life wisdom will forever remain in our hearts,” Minnikhanov added.
“I was personally acquainted with Boris Kirillovich. He passed a glorious life path. His history is an example for our youth”, Shaimiev said. At the request of Kuznetsov’s widow, a memorial plaque was installed at Gorky Street 3B in Kazan, where he lived in 2015-2020.
