Mintimer Shaimiev lays flowers at the Eternal Flame of the Colonnade of the Glory Memorial in Kazan

On May 9, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Hero of Labour of Russia Mintimer Shaimiev and accompanying them people took part in solemn events dedicated to the Victory Day and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame of the Colonnade of the Glory Memorial in Kazan.

The Rais of Tatarstan greeted the veterans who came to pay tribute to the dead heroes.

Then, the ceremony of laying flowers at the Monument to the Mothers and Widows of the Fallen Soldiers and the Soviet Soldier Monument took place.

Rustam Minnikhanov was also welcomed by veterans of the Russian Navy, members of the public organization «Maritime Assembly of Tatarstan», who gathered in the Victory Park to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the WWII. Sailors traditionally gather in the park near the K-403 Kazan submarine.

At the end of the event Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev on a retro car «Victory» went to the Millennium Square - to participate in the parade of troops of the Kazan garrison dedicated to the Victory Day.
