Mintimer Shaimiev meets Oleg Matytsin
On December 7, Tatarstan State Counselor, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Revival Fund Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with the Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin.
They looked around the exhibition about the work of Revival Regional Fund, where Shaimiev informed the guest about the implementation of the projects of revival of the Ancient Town of Bolgar and the Town-Island of Sviyazhsk, establishment of the Bolgar Islamic Academy and poly-language educational complexes Adymnar and reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Virgin Icon.
He also presented a new stand dedicated to the Astronomical observatories of Kazan University, which were inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List this year.
Matytsin thanked Shaimiev for his many years of support and great contribution to the development of sports in Tatarstan. Russian Minister handed in to Tatarstan State Counselor a jubilee medal dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the state administration in physical culture and sports, which was celebrated in November 2023. Matytsin called Shaimiev his teacher and mentor, recalling the successful cooperation during the preparation and holding of the XXVII World Summer University Games in Kazan.
