Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in the ceremony of unveiling the monument to Fatykh Karim

On May 8, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, Minister of Culture of the republic Irada Ayupova, the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Tatarstan Rkail Zaydullin, People's Poet of Tatarstan Renat Kharisov and representatives of the public took part in the ceremony of unveiling the monument to the writer, poet and war veteran Fatykh Karim, which was dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the WWII and took place in the "Molodezhny" square in Kazan.

From February 1942 to February 1945, the poet and combat officer Fatykh Karim fought on the front line, going all the way from the Moscow region to East Prussia. He was awarded the Order of the WWII 1st degree and has other awards. At that time, his poems were published in frontline newspapers, and his works were very popular.

Speaking at the opening of the monument, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the work of Fatykh Karim is a vivid example of love for life and his Fatherland.

He also emphasized the great work carried out by the poet's family.

At the end of the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated everyone on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and wished good health, well-being and all the best.
