On February 28, State Counsellor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met Naina Yeltsina, who arrived to the awarding ceremony of the winners of ITF tennis tournament “Yeltsin Cup”. The international competitions started at Kazan Tennis Academy on February 20.
More than one hundred sportsmen from 13 countries will take part in the event. The first tournament founded by the Yeltsin Foundation on his 80th anniversary was held on February 28, 2011 and made tennis a popular sport.
Naina Yeltsina noted that Tatarstan is developing, and a lot of important sport, culture and public events are held in the republic.

Yeltsin Centre” Foundation Vladimir Shevchenko, President of Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishev, a famous Russian tennis player and coach, honoured master of sports Anastasia Myskina, Director of ITF tennis tournament “Yeltsin Cup” Maria Goloviznina, Deputy Chairman of Tatarstan State Council, CEO of the Revival Foundation Tatyana Larionova, and Deputy Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration – Head of State Counsellor’s Secretariat Oleg Glebov took part in the meeting.
