Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the commemorative token “Kazan perimeter” in Bolgar

On May 4, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Vasil Shaikhraziev, CEO of the Revival Foundation, Deputy Chairman of State Council Tatyana Larionova, Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin and other officials laid flowers to the commemorative token the “Kazan perimeter” in Bolgar in honour of the 71st anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War.

During the war defensive barriers were built in the country as well as in Tatarstan, in Pokrovskoe village and Umary station, through Kaibitsy and Apasrovo villages and Kuibyshev (Bolgar).  The construction of barriers went down in history with heroic and tragic events.  In spite of the cold and hunger, using primitive tools, people managed to mobilize their power and courage, and fulfilled the task of the State Defence Committee.
